This feature requires the Pro version of the PublishPress Checklists plugin.
In the Pro version of PublishPress Checklists, it is possible to skip some statuses for tasks. This means that your requirements for “Draft” posts don't have to be the same your tasks for “Published” posts.
In the screenshot below, both the “Scheduled” and “Draft” statuses are selected for the “Exclude Statuses” option. This means that the “Number of characters in title” task will not be active for any posts in those two statuses.
This feature can be enabled or disabled using the “Enable Status Filter” by going to Checklists > Settings > General in your WordPress admin area.
