Display Options for PublishPress Authors
You have at least five different options for displaying authors using the PublishPress Authors plugin. Scroll down to see these five options:
Option #1: Below the content
By default, the add-on will display the author box below your Posts.
- Go to Authors > Settings and click the “Display” tab.
- Make sure that “This will display the authors box at the end of the content” is checked.
The image below shows a WordPress post with three authors selected. The names of the authors show, and so do their avatars:
Option #2. The Widget
When you install the add-on, PublishPress Authors automatically creates a widget that you can use to show the authors.
Go to Appearance > Widgets, and you can position your PublishPress Authors widget in any sidebar or widget area. You can also insert it into content using a Gutenberg block. The image below is a preview of how the widget may appear:
Option #3. The Shortcode
With PublishPress Authors shortcodes, you can display the author box in any part of the content. Click here to find out more about shortcode options.
Option #4. Editing Your Theme or Plugin
PublishPress Authors allows you to show author details in your plugin or theme.
You can use the action “pp_multiple_authors_show_author_box” to display the author box programmatically:
<?php do_action( 'pp_multiple_authors_show_author_box' ); ?>

Option #5. The Default WordPress Author Display
By default, PublishPress Authors will slightly alter the default WordPress author byline. Our plugin will show the name of the first author.
This feature is limited out-of-box because of constraints imposed by WordPress and some themes. However, PublishPress Authors does allows you to modify your theme and control the display. Click that link to see how to add multiple authors to this byline.
