What is the edit_metadata permission in the PublishPress plugin?

The edit_metadata permission in the PublishPress plugin allows users to the ability to update the metadata fields when they are editing a post.

Two examples of metadata fields are in the image below: “First Draft Date” and “Assignment”.

Who has the edit_metadata permission?

The edit_metadata permission is available on single WordPress sites and on multisite networks.

By default, the edit_metadata permission is given to Super Admins and Administrators.

Users not in these roles are not allowed to update metadata.


Control who has the edit_metadata permission

You can control who has the edit_metadata permission by installing the PublishPress Capabilities plugin.
