What is the pp_view_content_overview permission in the PublishPress plugin?

The pp_view_content_overview permission allows users to access the “Content Overview” screen in the PublishPress plugin.

The Content Overview screen will be in read-only mode for these users unless they also have permissions such as edit_posts or edit_pages.

Who has the pp_view_content_overview permission?

The pp_view_content_overview permission is available on single WordPress sites and on multisite networks.

By default, the activate_plugins permission is given to Super Admins, Administrators, Editors, Authors, and Contributors.

Users not in these roles are not allowed to access the “Content Overview” screen.


Control who has the pp_view_content_overview permission

You can control who has the pp_view_content_overview permission by installing the PublishPress Capabilities plugin.

  • After installing PublishPress Capabilities, go to “Capabilities” in your admin menu.
  • Choose the role you want to edit in “Select Role to View / Edit”.
  • Check or uncheck the “pp view content overview” box in the “Other WordPress Core Capabilities” area.
