PublishPress has Acquired Bylines, the Modern Multi-Author Plugin for WordPress

PublishPress is a plugin that helps WordPress teams create great content.

Over the last few months, the PublishPress developers have built features that help WordPress users write better content together. These features include a beautiful content calendar, blog post checklists, publishing permissions and content notifications.

Today we’re delighted to announce an acquisition that allows PublishPress to better support the needs of WordPress teams.

PublishPress has acquired Bylines, the modern multi-author plugin for WordPress.

Bylines allows you to assign multiple authors to a post and publish articles from guest authors. Bylines represents the best in class of WordPress plugin development, with unit tests, PHP autoloading, and more.

Bylines was launched by Daniel Bachhuber, who is famous in the WordPress community for his work on WP-CLI and the Co-Authors Plus plugin, which was the inspiration from Bylines. Daniel decided to find a new home for Bylines because it wasn’t his primary focus and he wanted to make sure it receives the attention it deserves.

All existing Bylines customers will have their purchase agreements honored. We plan to merge Bylines with our existing Multiple Authors add-on. Expect to see ongoing updates and new features throughout 2018 and beyond.

WordPress is becoming more and more popular with large teams producing high-quality content. The PublishPress team will continue to add features designed to help those teams create great content.

For any questions, email the PublishPress team ([email protected]) or Daniel ([email protected]).

Happy publishing!

    1. Hi John. Bylines has been merged into the “Multiple Authors” plugin that you can get here at PublishPress. We’ve been working to help Bylines users move over.
