Just over two months ago, we acquired the Press Permit plugins. Just importantly, Kevin (the original developer of the plugins) came to work with us. Two plugins have already moved here to PublishPress: Revisionary and Capability Manager Enhanced. The next step is to move the remaining Press Permit plugins over here to PublishPress.com.

We’re delighted to announce that PublishPress has acquired Press Permit. We have been talking about working together since early 2018. Yes, the companies do have very similar names, but there’s more to it than that! Both Press Permit and PublishPress are known for developing WordPress plugins that focus on publishing.

The new Gutenberg editor brings many interesting changes to WordPress. It takes away some features and adds some new improvements. In the case of PublishPress, Gutenberg did take away custom statuses (we hope to have a fix for that very soon). But, it also offered ways to make PublishPress better.
