PublishPress Authors Haw New Lists and Pages Features
We're super excited to share some brand new features in the PublishPress Authors plugin. This plugin allows you to create, manage and display authors for all your WordPress content.
The latest version of the plugin is available now and it has two big improvements:
- The “Author Pages” feature enables you to showcase the work of each individual author with customizable author pages.
- The “Author Lists” feature allows you to create a custom display of all your authors. You can sort, order, and filter to show only the authors you want.

Introduction to Author Pages
Author Pages allows you to replace the default author URLs provided by WordPress.
The WordPress core provides author pages that display the posts written by each author. These author pages will normally be located at a URL like this /author/username/. PublishPress Authors can replace the default WordPress author pages. The URLs of the pages will not change, but you can customize the pages using the settings on this screen.
When you first enable the Author Pages, they will look like the screenshot below. You'll see an author box on the top of the screen and the author's posts underneath.
This next screenshot shows the “Grid” layout for the author page of the same author.

Introduction to Author Lists
The Author Lists feature allows you to show a custom display of authors.
This feature comes with a variety of different views and configuration options. You'll find this feature by going to “Authors”, and then “Author Lists” in your WordPress admin menu.
The “Author Index” view organizes your authors alphabetically. This screenshot below shows a preview of this “Author Index” view. If you click on any of the letters, you'll be able to drill down to view only the authors whose names begin with that letter.
The “Author Recent List” view allows you to show your authors, together with their most recent posts. This image below shows the “Author Recent” display. Each author has their name, profile image, and up to five recent posts.
