Feature highlights
This release focuses on making revision workflows more flexible for teams that need clear approval steps and predictable content copying.
- Copy Post feature: You can now create a copy of an existing post with PublishPress Revisions. This is a simpler alternative to clicking “Create Revision” which gives you moderation abilities and the option to schedule your changes to go live in the future. The “Copy” button will simply duplicate your post.

- Revision field controls: Choose which post fields are available for revisions and copy posts, helping teams keep edits focused on the content areas they want to review.

- Approve link on New Revisions screen: Approvers can now act more quickly from the revisions listing instead of opening extra screens.

Other changes and fixes
PublishPress Revisions v3.8.2 also includes several fixes and interface refinements that should make day-to-day editing smoother.
- Scheduled revision previews: Fixed incorrect preview bar formatting for scheduled revisions in some cases.
- Revision copying: Fixed an issue where the copy action could copy the main post instead of the revision.
- Draft post locking: Fixed cases where draft posts appeared locked on the Posts screen even though they were editable.
- Button styling: Improved consistency on the Edit Revision screen and adjusted Compare Revisions buttons for upcoming WordPress compatibility.
- Optional listing metaboxes: Pending Revision and Scheduled Revision listing metaboxes can now be optional.
- WP REST Cache compatibility: Fixed REST query failures and a potential fatal error related to the compatibility hook.
- Security fix: Fixed an issue where revision comparison requests could list pending revisions to unauthorized Revisors.
Developer improvements
Developers can now use a new API filter to disable the automatic redirect after a revision is approved. This is useful for custom editorial workflows that need to control what happens after approval.
The release also improves compatibility behavior for sites using the WP REST Cache plugin, including REST request handling and protection against a compatibility hook fatal error.
