All of the PublishPress Plugins Have March Releases
This week, we've released updates for all of the PublishPress plugins.
We have six plugins in total, each with a Free and Pro version. This images shows all six:

Mostly there were small bug-fixes in these releases. But there are two helpful new features I'd like to highlight.

Improvement #1. Automatic backups for Capabilities
Changing permissions in WordPress can be a tricky task. It's possible to lock yourself or others out of some important features.
So, we've built a way to keep your site safe.
Every time you change your permissions, the PublishPress Capabilities plugin will now automatically create a backup. If you make a mistake, go to the “Backup” menu link and you'll be able to roll back to a previous version.

Improvement #2. Simpler language in Permissions
The PublishPress Permissions plugin has been around for over 10 years. Some of the language in the plugin is from a different era of WordPress and doesn't make it very easy to use the plugin.
So we're starting to use simpler language in the plugin.
For example, we previous used the word “Exceptions” through the plugin. That only made sense if you had a deep understanding of WordPress.
Now if you edit a page, you'll see these simpler labels:
- Permissions: Read this Page
- Permissions: Edit this Page
- Permissions: Select the Page as Parent
