PublishPress Statuses 1.3.6: Role Search Improves the Post Access Screen
PublishPress Statuses 1.3.6 makes it easier to manage post access by adding a role search filter to the Post Access tab, while also tightening visibility behavior, fixing several editorial workflow issues, and adding security hardening.
Table of Contents
Feature highlights
- Clearer visibility locking: The visibility lock settings are easier to understand, and the default lock now also helps prevent content from being unpublished.

- Role search on Post Access: Statuses Pro users will see a new search filter to find roles faster when reviewing or editing access rules.

These changes should be especially useful on sites with many custom roles, complex editorial permissions, or teams that need tighter control over when content can be made private, public, or unpublished.
Other improvements and fixes
- Security hardening: The release includes security focused code hardening as part of PHPCS compliance work.
- Administrator capability display: The Post Access tab now shows implicitly assigned Administrator capabilities more accurately.
- Status handling fixes: Custom statuses should no longer appear as Draft for non administrator Editor roles in the post editor.
- Pending status fix: Manually selecting Pending status should no longer corrupt the stored status after updating a post.
- Statuses Pro revision count: The New Revisions โAllโ count is no longer doubled when Statuses Pro is active.
- Mobile display cleanup: The Post Access tab is clearer on smaller screens.
- Interface polish: The update removes trailing separators in some row action links and fixes extra spacing below the Status selector.
- Import reliability: Status automatic import no longer triggers a fatal error under some conditions.
- JetFormBuilder compatibility: The release improves handling for JetFormBuilder new posts that should be automatically published.
If your site relies on custom editorial statuses or role based access rules, this is a worthwhile update for both usability and reliability.
