PublishPress Authors 4 is Available Now

We're really happy to say that the PublishPress Authors plugin is now at version 4.0.

Previously, the main selling point of PublishPress Authors was that you could add multiple authors to one post. That's not possible with the WordPress core.

But thanks to user feedback, we've been able to expand the plugin. With version 4.0, PublishPress Authors is now a complete platform for managing and displaying authors.

PublishPress Authors 3.30 is available now and it has major improvements to the “Author Boxes” feature. This feature allows you to show author profiles under posts and in other areas of your site.

“Author Boxes” now offers a live preview, so you can see the design of each Author Box before making it live. And there are now hundreds of new options, so you can customize every aspect of the author profiles.

This is now possible with big improvements to the [authors_list] shortcode. This update arrives in PublishPress Authors version 3.20.

We're starting a major set of improvements to the PublishPress Authors plugin. The goal of these upgrades is to add some key new features:

  • More customizable author pages.
  • The ability to display all of your authors on one screen.
  • Better support for the WordPress REST API.
  • More design and layout options for profiles.
  • Categories for Authors, so you can group them into “Writers”, “Photographers”, “Researchers” and other groups.

The first step is to improve the shortcodes in PublishPress Authors. These changes will form the foundation of several more of these upgrades.

PublishPress Authors Has New Profile Screens

PublishPress Authors 3.16 is now available and it has a new feature that many customers have requested. You can now allow users to update their own author profiles.

If a user has an author profile linked to their account, they will now see an “Author Profile” screen in the menu. They can update their profile information here and it will update on the front of your site.
