# The Editorial Fields Screen

Editorial Fields enables you to keep track of important requirements for your content. This [PublishPress Planner](https://publishpress.com/links/planner) feature allows you to create fields and store information about content items.

By default, [PublishPress Planner](https://publishpress.com/links/planner) provide two examples of editorial fields:

- **First Draft Date**: a date field to show when the first draft needs to be ready
- **Assignment**: a paragraph field to store a short explanation of the topic

If you click "Edit" for each field, you can configure how this term works:

Metadata can be seen updated on the right-hand side of the post creation screen:
