## About Elementor Plugin Capabilities

The Elementor plugin use a core WordPress capability to control user access:

However, the situation with Elementor is more complex than that because many key capabilities are only available in the commercial version: Elementor Pro. If you are using the free version of Elementor, you will have limited control over what your users can do. This screenshot below shows the "Role Manager" in the free version, with the Upgrade links.

We do have guides to controlling access to some Elementor features:

## How to Give Elementor Capabilities to User Roles

If you use the [PublishPress Capabilities](https://publishpress.com/links/capabilities) plugin, you can choose which user roles have some access to the Elementor plugin. Go to the "Capabilities" screen and click the "Editing" tab. You will be able to grant this capability to a new user role.
